The 1958 Toyota Toyopet Custom Crown Deluxe went on sale in October, 1958.  Motor Trend magazine featured the Toyopet in a review in their October 1958 issue.  IT gave many specifications on the Toyopet.

ENGINE:
4-cly. in-line ohv. Bore 3.03 in. Stroke 3.07 in. Stroke/bore ration 1.01:1.  Compression ratio 8.0.1. Displacement 88.7 cu. in. (1453cc). Develops 60 bhp @4400 rpm. Torque 79.5 lbs.-ft. @ 2600 rpm.

TRANSMISSION:
Hydraulically operated dry single-patch clutch.  3-speed column shift, synchro on top 2 gears.  Overall ratios 18.98:1, 9.41:1, 5.2:1; reverse 25.3:1.  Rear axle ratio 5.2:1.

CHASSIS:
Box-section steel frame, specifically braced for torsional rigidity.
Front suspension – independent with unequal length A-arms and coil springs.
Rear – semi-elliptic leaf spring.  Hydraulic shock absorbers all around.  6.40 x 15 tires.  Hydraulic brakes with 2 leading shoes in front.  Worm and sector steering with 36-ft. turning circle, 5 turns lock-to-lock.
